ITC Level 3 Award in Education and Training

 

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is for those who intend to deliver training courses such as First Aid Training, skills based training, adult education courses and other workshops.

This course qualifies you to both deliver and assess training on a variety of courses. If you want to be sure that this is the correct course for you then check the qualification specification of the course that you intend to deliver.

This course consists of three units:

  1. Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training (3 credits)

  2. Understanding and using inclusive approaches in education and training (6 credits)

  3. Understanding assessment in education and training (3 credits)

Topics include:

Unit 1: Roles & responsibilities, maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, working with others.   

Unit 2: Inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training, planning, delivery and evaluation of inclusive teaching and learning. For this unit you will need to deliver a micro-teach of about 20 minutes to a group of at least 2 learners which will be observed by your assessor.

Unit 3: Types and methods of assessment used in education and training, involving learners and others in the assessment process, giving constructive feedback to learners, keeping records of assessment.

This course is delivered using Moodle (an online learning platform). All work towards the assessed portfolio is also uploaded onto Moodle. This means that you can complete the course in your own time with full support from your tutor/assessor online, by email or by phone.

Your assessor will also conduct a face-to-face observation of teaching activity taking place and complete an observation report for your portfolio.

Course dates: You can start on any date you wish following the completion of a registration form and payment of the course fee. You will have 12 months from this date to complete the course.

Course cost: £650 to include registration, access to Moodle and all training and assessment activities, one face-to-face observation visit from your assessor, all Internal and External moderation as required by the Awarding Organisation (ITC).
